More texture...
So, the departure continues as I work on focusing in on just color, composition and texture. I am testing my own boundaries as well as those of the medium and learning where to maintain control and where to let it go. I am also working on trying to pull out the essence of the inspirational reference, and communicate that essence less literally. I feel each successive painting does that a little bit better.
I am having a blast and am excited to get my hands on the various textures of paint to see what I can do with it! Here are 2 more abstract paintings in acrylic, based (although more loosely) on the same walls as the first 2, but with a more hopeful feel...
